Sidi Ifni is a city located in South-West Morocco, right on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of 20.000 people. The economy base of the city is fishing. The inhabitants are mainly Chleuhs and Arabs from the Ait Baamrane tribe. In 2000, an important fishing port was concluded, which serves as a base for fish exports. 

 

Sidi Ifni celebrates its independence from Spain each year on the 30th of June. Independence day is followed by an annual gathering of the Ait Bamraan berber people from all around the region. It's the festival of the fruit of the barbari figue which is a very delicious and popular fruit in the region.
